For the past 11 years, I have written stories describing development, design and construction of rail-transit projects such as RTD's service between Union Station and Denver International, national award-winning healthcare projects such as the Omaha VA Ambulatory Care Center, university buildings, underground neutrino facilities, submarine bases, novel water-treatment facilities and elegant renovations of historic buildings.

Before that, I traveled the country for five years and wrote newsletters for railroad clients, including Amtrak's Western Region and Caltrans, four regions for Genesee & Wyoming, Nashville Locomotive Shop for CSX and Union Pacific's two largest classification yards. For each newsletter, I also ghost-wrote a column from the regional executive that was based on my reporting for that month or quarter.

Between 2008 and 2010, I wrote about crime in and around the Navajo Nation, for a daily newspaper — the Gallup Independent, whose banner read: The Truth Well Told; and before that, I covered a multi-town beat for a weekly newspaper in central New Hampshire during the 2007 primary season. I covered local elections for a daily newspaper in southern Vermont as well, where I started as an intern with the Arts & Entertainment Department.
